Fenton, MO based Technology Support company is seeking to hire a

Human Resources Generalist

The HR Generalist under the direction of the HR Director ensures accurate processing and recording of company's payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, participate in daily data entry Payroll processing.  The HR Generalist is able to use payroll software with accuracy and efficiency, is good with numbers and can be trusted with sensitive information. Full-cycle recruiting including talent sourcing, attracting candidates, interviewing, the hiring process, on-boarding process and assist with benefit administration.    

Job Duties 

  • Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data. Typically uses automated system to produce accurate and timely payroll. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.) for management.
  • Performs various account reconciliations and provides general ledger support.
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Stays current on payroll systems to achieve alignment with HR benefits and other related and to ensure effective accounting support.
  • Facilitates management and employee understanding of payroll procedures.
  • Perform recruitment activities. Review and approvals on all job requisitions.  Post jobs and monitor incoming resumes to forward to Managers/Supervisors
  • Telephone and in-person interviews, evaluate candidates for select positions at headquarters
  • Process monthly billings from insurance providers. Review billings for accuracy, codes and advances for payment. Resolve discrepancies with carriers, payroll and the company. Complete reports for management as requested.
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
  • Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc.)
  • Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
  • Process manual checks
  • Load import files received from HR
  • Manage employee unemployment reporting

Education and Experience


Required Education and Experience

  • Proven experience as payroll specialist or payroll coordinator
  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices
  • Very good knowledge of legislation and regulations of the field
  • Proficient in MS Office and good knowledge of relevant software and databases
  • Trustworthy with attention to confidentiality
  • Outstanding organizational ability with great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent; BSc/BA in business, accounting or relevant field is a plus

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Associate degree.
  • Certified Professional Payroll (APA - CPP) credential.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office Suite), computer hardware and computer servers.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Ability to operate most standard office equipment.
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
  • Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
  • Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
